Leon Wilson | Author
Born in the same Missouri town as his father, Leon comes from a military family. He has lived in most of the 50 states, Germany and Thailand. Leon ran numerous marathons, including those in Athens, Paris and the DC Marine Corps.
A world traveler, he has visited every continent and places as wild and remote as Rapa Nui, Newfoundland, Patagonia, South Georgia Island, Antarctica and the islands off Zanzibar.
Adventure travel is his passion and he and his wife have watched the moon rise in the Sahara Desert, swam with whale sharks in the Gulf of Mexico, and camped in the Serengeti. He plans a minimum of two “bucket list” adventure trips each year.

Brigadier General Leon A. Wilson Jr. in his last position before retirement was Director of Supply for the U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. As the Air Force’s senior supply officer, General Wilson was responsible for developing supply and fuels inventory policy and plans for the Air Force. Also, he was responsible for the logistics programming support for all aircraft, missiles, communications, munitions, and vehicles to ensure a combat-ready and sustainable air forces.
The general began his military career through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Blacksburg, Virginia. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in December 1967 and entered active duty in January 1968. General retired in June 1998.
